Project Participants

The participants listed below are the scholars and public practitioners who contributed to Beyond Golden Age and Decline: the Legacy of Muslim Societies in Global Modernity, 1300-1900. Most of the scholars listed in the first column contributed content to this website and/or presented at the Scholars Forum conducted on March 13-15, 2011 by the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. The participants listed in the second column attended the Program Development Workshop on March 16-17, 2011, convened by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities in Charlottesville, Virginia. Workshop participants also attended the Forum and contributed ideas for public dissemination of the ideas around the project topic.
