Bio
Mr. A. Jay Lamb is a Humanities teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ). In his 24 years at TJ, Mr. Lamb has taught Advanced Placement U.S. History, U.S. Government, and Comparative government, world history, and economics. He was instrumental in creating a number of innovative programs at TJ, including the EGG program (combining English, government, and geosciences in and environmental theme) and Topics in Globalization (combining AP government and Language, focusing on global events and issues). In addition, Mr. Lamb developed and teaches both World r Religions and Philosophy classes at TJ and led the team that created the Program of Studies for both of these subjects for Fairfax County Public schools. Mr. Lamb has taught FCPS Academy classes designed to teach colleagues about religion in public schools and has presented his work on teaching about religion and religious issues in public schools at a variety of conferences for his school division as well as national organizations such as ASCD, and the Virginia Council for Social Studies. Mr. Lamb resides with his wife, Sandy, and three daughters in Fairfax, Virginia.
